My wife and I moved to the valley in 2022 when I was fortunate enough to become the principal at Chelan High School. This came after living, working and raising our children in Newport, Washington, for over 30 years, where I served as a paraeducator, coach, special education teacher, 4th-grade teacher, and administrator. 

More recently, I joined a cohort of principals from across Washington to talk about the pathways middle and high school students need to achieve successful post-secondary outcomes. This has become one of my greatest curiosities and passions. I’m excited to meet with student leadership groups at Chelan High School and hear directly from students about the educational journeys, programs, and school culture they want and need to support who they want to become. I believe some of our best ideas come from listening to the young people and families we serve.  

Joining the Thrive Chelan Valley board gives me another opportunity to serve our community and support young people in a different capacity. I’m looking forward to building new relationships, learning from others, and contributing to Thrive’s efforts to help local youth feel connected, supported, and prepared for their futures
